Where do I park?

American Village has several parking lots, a mix of free and paid/time-based. Since almost everyone arrives by car, the lots near Sunset Beach fill up first on weekends and before sunset — allow extra time, or park a little farther out and walk in. Each spot page on this site notes parking where we have confirmed it.

What time should I come for the sunset?

The sunset over the west-facing sea is the signature experience here. Sunset time shifts a lot by season, so look up the day's sunset time and arrive 20–30 minutes early. Good vantage points include Sunset Beach, the Depot Island seaside deck, and the Sunabe seawall to the north. On cloudy days the sun may not appear — that is part of the game.

What should I do on a rainy day?

American Village still works in the rain: much of it is a walkable block of shops, and there are indoor options such as a shopping mall and a cinema. Save the beaches and the seawall for a dry, clear evening.

Beach & seaside etiquette?

• Take your trash home — carry out anything you bring to the beach or seawall.
• Follow posted swimming rules and seasons; some beaches only allow swimming during set periods.
• The Sunabe seawall sits next to homes — keep noise down early and late, and mind divers entering the water.
• American Village is private commercial property; ask before photographing shopfronts or people.

Can I pay by card?

Most shops and restaurants in American Village take cards and IC payments. Smaller places and some beachside vendors may be cash only, so carry some yen; there are convenience stores with ATMs nearby.

Is it good for kids?

Yes. Araha Park has a large ship-shaped playground, open lawns and a beach, and American Village has open plazas and family restaurants. The compact, walkable layout makes it easy with strollers once you have parked.
